The Girl Who LIkes to Fight Crime?

What pro/ con issues do you see emerging in your beginning research about your position paper topic?  What are your sentiments regarding these issues?

Sammy Keyes spied someone across the street stealing a wallet. The thief saw her. She wanted to tell the police, but didn't for three reasons. One, she was using binoculars that she wasn't supposed to play with. Two, she was living in her Grandma's apartment building where she wasn't supposed to live. Three, she could have told the police, but the police wouldn't believe her anyway. So what was she to do? Solve the case herself! Duh.This is the book i have started to read this semester. I have started reading the story of Sammy Keyes: The Hotel Thief  by Wendelin Van Draanen. Sammy also has to deal with Mrs. Graybill, her grandmother's next-door neighbor, who doesn't want Sammy to live in the building with her grandmother. This is illegal in the first place because her grandmother lives in a retirement building where the grandchildren are not allowed to live in. Mrs. Graybill always has an eye on what is going on outside in halls. Which is why Sammy has to be very sneaky while sneaking up the fire escape to her grandmothers room. Of coarse, there is also a school bully named Heather that Sammy has to deal with everyday at school. Heather's tricks are low  and dirty. To get even, Sammy has to pay back Heather for what she does. So far, Sammy has to deal with many things. This is tough for a girl in Junior High. This is why I think that if she doesn't have to deal with something, she shouldn't. Her issues can be heavy on her shoulders sometimes. I think that Sammy could very easily drop the search for that hotel thief or could stop the feud between her and Heather Acosta leaving her shoulders with less weight on them. Either way, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, and i think that if Sammy thinks its the right thing to do, she should go for it.
