PLN #3: Opposites Attract

In the book The Midnight Twins  by Jacquelyn Mitchard, I've realized that Mally and Merry are alike but yet so different in many ways. I wonder how somethings can be so alike but so different at the same time. In this book the author shows great examples of how things that are considered like that. Mally and Merry are identical twins. Ever since birth, Mally and Merry have looked exactly the same, thought the same thoughts, and have had the same dreams. The twins also poses different qualities. For example, after the fire in the house had struck, all the attention was driving Mally crazy. But Merry never wanted the attention to go away. Other examples could be how Mally is sporty and Merry is girly. Mally and Merry act differently but yet at the same time they manage to act the same way. I think it is interesting how this can happen at the same time. I also think it is interesting how they can "feel" each other and "hear" each other. It makes me wonder how it would feel to have a twin like that.

PLN #2: Good People Doing Bad Things

If you don’t know something from both perspectives, you could think someone was an awful person for doing something bad. In The Midnight Twins by Jacquelyn Mitchard, The Brynn twins pull a prank on their neighbor Drew. If you were to just watch this prank happen you would just think that these twins are big jerks. But, if you knew the background story, you wouldn’t judge so quickly. The Brynn Twins are considered “good people”. They have good grades, good athletics, they are good at being nice, and they have no criminal record! You could think that they were the opposite of good when they dumped a 20 pound bag of bird seeds onto the roof of their neighbor’s car as he was in the middle of a date. You could also think that Drew is a jerk when he posted an embarrassing picture of a twin all over school. Then again you don’t know that The Brynn twins’ neighbor, Drew, is one of their closest friends! When you think about it this way, you tend to say: “oh well those people are just friends being friends.” They didn’t do a completely bad thing when you know that the prank they pulled was on their best friend! Also the prank was not intended to be hateful! So, I think that good people do considered “bad things” because they know that this “bad thing” that they are doing will not be truly harmful to the other person and that the other person will fully understand. Sometimes, before you judge the fact that someone is a bad person, you have to know the inside and both perspectives of a story.

PLN #1: The Midnight Twins

In the book The Midnight Twins by Jacquelyn Mitchard, Meredith and Mallory figure out things about themselves that they never would have suspected. I just started reading this Book called The Midnight Twins so I'm don't not sure what this book is fully about yet, but I do know that this book is going to be a suspenseful mystery. Meredith and Mallory are twins and they realized that they could "read" each others minds when they were born. As babies, they would scream their heads off when they were apart. At the age of five, Meredith disappeared. There mother realized that Mallory could somehow communicate with Meredith. This makes me wonder how it must be to have a twin. I think I would want to have a twin for a day or two to see how its like. I would see if you could actually communicate with each other. I think it would be fun to have someone to relate to or open up to all the time. Like a friend, but you don't have to question whether she's a good friend or not because she's family. I am excited to see what this book reveals and I hope I can write more about it in the future.
